The Problem
The user research showed that the parents have expressed that it’s been difficult and time-consuming to find the right stories to read for their children. These frustrations are coming from the time when parents spend much more time searching than reading; they want to know if the story content is appropriated for their children’s age and if it is educational. With this hypothetical scenario, TinyTales brought me on board to create an app for the iPad and tablet that would help parents have an easier and quicker experience to find the right story to read for their children.
Design Sprint - Day 1
Tasks
To understand the user’s problem
Find a specific area to focus on
Start at the end by mapping
The questions I was trying to have answered
How might we improve the user experience from searching to purchase from an app?
How might we enable users to quickly purchase the stories they found?
How might we allow users to easily sift through the options to find the right book?

Competitor Analysis
I searched through a few online story apps and an app that connect teachers with students and parents to build amazing classroom communities. These apps are very thoughtful and they are very inspiring.
Crazy 8’s
Once I have some ideas in mind, I spent about 8 minutes to sketch out 8 different sketches for the screens.
Solution Sketch
I chose one screen from Crazy 8’s sketches to be the solution sketch and sketch out a three-panel board which turned into a tiny storyboard.
